Introduction

This course is intended to help participants learn of the power of Microsoft Word for creating documents and layouts. Participants must have working knowledge of Word and be comfortable using technology before beginning this course.

It is recommended that participants print the activities so that they have a reference when completing assessment tasks.
    Drag down the File menu and choose Page Set Up. Set the Print Margins at .25 for the left and right margins..

*Participants should also print the assessment task summary and keep track of the dates they submitted their assignments.

This course provides tips and tricks to make documents accessible for all students. For years teachers have created documents that follow a basic format and use the common options available in Microsoft Word. Using a few simple techniques an instructor can adjust their papers to increase the readability and accessibility so that all students may be successful. This course will include topics such as customizing toolbars for individual students, discuss font types, character and line spacing, keyboard shortcuts, effective use of the form toolbar and ideas to assist students with the writing process. They will learn some little know tricks that make accommodating to individual student needs a snap. Participants will download documents and apply the skills they learn throughout the course to modify the text.
